Successful protest march Unmute Us in the Netherlands

Roughly 70,000 people took part in the ‘Unmute Us’ protest march which took place in six major cities in the Netherlands. This march was to show the discontent with the government’s decision to cancel all festivals this summer. The march was set up by Apenkooi Events in collaboration with other major festival organisers and the campaign was developed by Boomerang Agency.

”You got to fight for your right to party”

The main goal of Unmute Us is to ensure that the festival industry can be up and running again, in full capacity. Major artists such as Armin van Buuren, Joris Voorn and Michel de Hey contributed to this campaign and asked their followers to take part in the march. Dutch author Kluun also used his voice and asked his followers to break the silence.

Boomerang Agency came up with the campaign name and the creative concept of Unmute Us. This was a selfless act done by the agency to support the festival industry.

Second edition of ‘Unmute Us’ protest mobilizes more than 150.000 people in 10 cities.
