Ah, collecting football cards. Who didn’t grow up with it?

On some refrigerators you can still vaguely see the contours of Ruud Gullit or Dennis Bergkamp. But as we all know, generations come and go. Today’s Robben, Van Persie and Sneijder are Memphis Depay, Frenkie de Jong and Matthijs de Ligt, while the Oranjeleeuwinnen are also massive stars ready to take on the future. So, to find their truest fans, we sent our best scouts to the platform of the youngsters: TikTok. And guess what? We scored!

We brought the football cards to life by making the fans part of the campaign, encouraging them to get as close to their football heroes as possible. TikTok users got the chance to play ball with big football stars such as Matthijs de Ligt and Sari van Veenendaal, all thanks to the awesome TikTok duet function. The famous players gave the assists, while inventive TikTok creators put their cards on the table and finished the job. In the end, the Albert Heijn account doubled their number of followers on TikTok and also received a brand-new blue tick, which officially makes this campaign a big winner!
