Neurodiversity Partnership with VIA

Boomerang, Publicis and Via Nederland hosted a Future Bosses Lunch for Neurodivergent talent.

Talent development and appreciation is important, also in our industry. That is why we like to give attention to a still underexposed topic within DEI (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion): Neurodiversity. The ‘For Better’ program of Boomerang and Publicis join forces with Via Nederland and take the dis out of disability so that neuro divergent talents feel at home in their work environment, our industry.

An estimated 15% of the population is neuro divergent – a term that covers autism, ADHD, dyslexia, Tourette’s syndrome, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, dyspraxia and more. According to psychologist Devon MacEachron, neurological differences are considered dysfunctional, disorder or disability in the current medical model. This is also reflected in the underrepresentation of Neuro Divergents in the workplace. And yet neurodiversity is actually part of our genetics and evolution as human beings. It is part of what sets us apart and makes us unique.

During Neurodiversity Celebration Week, on Friday, March 24, Via Nederland, Boomerang and Publicis are hosting a Future Bosses lunch for recently graduated neuro divergent talent under our For Better initiative.

Through the Future Bosses Lunch, the partnership aims to provide a platform for important career and life questions to raise awareness and knowledge about neurodiversity within the workplace.

Participants from these agencies will include: Mindshare, Glue, Havas Lemz, Publicis Groupe, Marble Content, and Boomerang.
